The Packing Continues

My god this is tiring! I’m absolutely exhausted!

Well, the bar is gone. It went today, along with some glass shelves, a few ikea storage bins, and a load of odds and ends. A bunch of DVD’s are gone but there’s still a whack more, so feel free to keep shopping. I’m going to post on Craigslist this week, I think. I cannot bear to even look at the kitchen; dust bunnies are all that occupies the empty space where my bar sat. I can’t even go INTO the kitchen without welling up, so I’ve been avoiding that part of the house – which is challenging, because I have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom. I’ve taken peeing into coffee cups in the living room and coming and going from the apartment via the living room window, but I don’t know how much longer I can keep that up. The people downstairs are getting tired of my rappelling ropes banging against their living room windows.

One of the hardest things to pack up (aside from my Tiki Bar) was my booze collection. I obviously can’t bring almost a hundred bottles of spirits across the border, so it has to go. Man, it’s hard. Here’s a short video detailing the process.

Agonizing! I spent YEARS massing the ingredients for my experiments. Now here it is, reduced to four banker boxes.

It’s been sold, en masse, to a single unnamed individual who has requested I keep his identity secret (because he doesn’t want a horde of drunks showing up on his doorstep with pitchforks and empty mugs screaming “we know you’ve got the stash! Open up!”). The shelves are now bare, which makes me very, very sad. The irony is I can’t even fix myself a cocktail to make myself feel better. I did manage to keep the booze that was on the upside-down shot machine – I shall ration it until departure day; lest I face the ultimate horror – a house with absolutely nothing to drink. I must be cautious and ensure such a calamity does not come to fruition!

The sale continues with a few new items; I dropped the price on a couple and that seemed to do the trick, they sold shortly thereafter. Keep checking back for more exciting deals!

Ok, back to packing.

The Green Mile wasn’t as depressing as this clip. But thanks for sharing nonetheless.
